by | Sep 13, 2017

September is the perfect time to get out and enjoy our amazing local wineries and experience the ambiance created by listening to live music while sipping a nice glass of your favorite juice of the vine. Whatever your occasion or mood, we’ve got a list of shows that you won’t want to miss. Here are our top picks for local wineries with bands and artists playing from now until the end of September:

Bargetto Winery

The Summer Music Series is held every Thursday throughout the summer at Bargetto, and Thursday, September 14th is the last one of the 2017 season! Don’t miss the chance to see D’oh Bros on the Creekside Courtyard, playing a mixture of originals and great classic rock songs. Admission is free and the event is from 6-8pm. Wine is sold by the glass, and food will be available for purchase. Check them out here.

Big Dog Vineyards

Come to this family-owned boutique winery in the East San Jose foothills from 1-4pm to enjoy live music in a lovely setting at the vineyards. On September 16th, Jack Cutter will be playing solo acoustic steel string guitar without accompaniment or vocals that shifts in tone from blues, to rock, to country, to whatever moves him. On September 23rd, you can enjoy the two-piece acoustic band Honeywood as they cover an eclectic variety of artists ranging from Bob Dylan to Green Day, and just about everything in between. Check them out here.

Cinnabar Winery

Cinnabar Winery September also brings fantastic live music at Cinnabar Winery from 5:30-7:30! On September 15th, enjoy light hearted music from Carlos Padilla, bringing a smooth combination of guitar and ukulele with percussion and harmonies. On September 22nd, David Correa will be at the Winery with his Latin Guitar World Fusion band. Saturday the 23rd is 7th Wave, an acoustic band with 3 lead singers. Then on September 29th, pick up the energy with Joice Walton! With her Jazz, blues, rock, pop and soul influences, she prefers to simply call what she does “American Music.” Check them out here.

Savannah-Chanelle Vineyards

Savannah-Chanelle has two chances per week to enjoy their 2017 Summer Music Series until the season is up! On Fridays, make sure to be in front of the tasting room from 5-7pm to enjoy live music with no cover charge. On Sundays, the event is on the Villa grounds from 1-4pm, and includes a $10 cover for non-members. These live shows you’ll definitely want to catch! This weekend, the acoustic duo Aly and Tina will be playing on Friday, September 15th, with Matt Bolton playing looping rock covers on Sunday the 17th. The following weekend is the last chance to enjoy this series, with Len Cat serving up rock and blues on Friday the 22nd , and South City Blues Band finishing up the season with blues and swing music on Sunday, September 24th. Check them out here.

Satori Cellars

There are also 4 chances left in September to catch some live jams at Satori Cellars in Gilroy. Satori is open from 12-5pm, come rain or shine, and the winery proudly proclaims that “there’s always a party at Satori!” On September 17th, party with HackJammers, a high energy quartet playing a mix of 80s/90s hits, dance music, funk, and classic rock to get people on their feet. September 23rd brings Just Picked String Band, the excellent Bluegrass and Americana band that has become a Satori staple. Get excited on September 24th, for Snarky Cats, a high energy Rock & Roll Party band based in the Bay area that pride themselves in being an anti-cover, cover band. And finally, round out the month on September 30th by jamming out to ThunderHug! Check them out here.
