Sunday Sipping in Sonoma
Sunday, April 29th
8:30 am to 6:00 pm
Join us for a Springtime tour in Sonoma! We’ll visit 3 great wineries, with a behind-the-scene experience and barrel tasting, beautiful Sonoma scenery, some wine country gift shop browsing and a winery picnic.
Hop on board and have some coffee and French pastries on the way to Sonoma!
Our first stop of the day is Mayo Family Winery – Started in 1990 with a passion for Chardonnay, the winery now makes a big line-up of award-winning wines – everything from sparkling wine, Gewurztraminer, and Chardonnay, to Cab Franc, Pinot Noir, and a Sonoma Valley Meritage named after Proprietor Diane Mayo. We’ll try a few!
Kunde – Next, it’s over to Sonoma Valley legend, Kunde Family Winery, known for their sense of fun, love of nature, and warm hospitality. Enjoy a tasting of 5 wines, during a private cave tour with an exclusive barrel tasting! Then it’s time for a wine country picnic lunch on the Vineyard Terrace. The heart of Kunde Family Winery is Wildwood Vineyards, a 1,000-acre parcel bought by Louis Kunde in 1904 and planted with imported cuttings from renowned French producers, Chateaux Margaux and Lafite Rothschild. Over the years, 5 generations of Kundes have expanded this beautiful property to nearly 2,000 acres!
We finish our Sunday tour with a visit to VJB Vineyard for a relaxed tasting of their Italian varietals and time to browse the culinary treasures in La Cucina, made by proprietor and chef, Maria Belmonte. VJB makes limited production Italian varietals, all grown in Sonoma Valley – from the unusual Sagrantino to the classic Sangiovese, a delicious estate Brunello, and much more.
