We visit the following wine regions: Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Clara Valley (San Jose area), Napa, Sonoma, and Livermore. Within these wine regions are lots of towns – Here is the list of the wineries that we visit, organized by city.
Closest to San Jose would be the wineries in Cupertino, Saratoga, and Los Gatos, followed by Gilroy, Santa Cruz, and Livermore. A full tour of the closest local wineries is typically 5.5 hrs – this allows enough time to visit 3 wineries, enjoy a winery activity such as a behind-the-scenes tour, and have a picnic lunch (restaurant meals may also be incorporated into your tour, but add some time as compared to a picnic at the winery).
A full tour to Napa requires 9 to 10 hours, which is 4 hours in round-trip travel time, plus 5 or 6 hours to be in Napa.
